Jesus rose from the dead? ...come ON!!!?

The bible says that Jesus rose from the dead and that his tomb was empty. This implies that his physical body came back to life. Someone even felt the wound on his side. This reempasizes the implication that his body was physically alive. And where did this body go? Into the sky? Come on! Is his body floating around in the clouds somewhere? I think it's possible that Christians (at the time of this writing) actually thought that heaven was up in the sky and that Jesus was sitting on top of a cloud somewhere. It is only after the advancements of science and technology that we find the truth about the sky. So now we take a more sci-fi approach to heaven: it is another dimension. What if I held my thumb between my fingers and said "I got your nose"? How long could you reexplain how I actually had your nose? How long until you finally gave in and admitted that you were duped? Wake up, people!!

All I needed to know about christianity is that it claims to have the messiah from the Tanakh, but uses scripture out of context to identify him, and it messed up the original creation story to suit their causes. They're a bunch of scam artists, easily identified by comparing the Talmud to the OT. Divine inspiration does NOT change previous divine inspiration... if it does, then it means that NEITHER is divine. Because of that, you can't take ANYTHING in the bible seriously as anything other than fiction.



Christians, please learn the roots of your religion. The OT is NOT the same as the Tanakh... you may be surprised to find out who the 'us' and 'we' are that god refers to when you do.

Reply:Jesus Christ is known in my religion as Hazrat Isa (A.). First of all, we believe that Jesus or Hazrat Isa did not die or wasn't taken away carrying the sins of mankind. His soul was taken away, in fact, and humans will definitely pay for the sins they commit in this world. Heaven is not above the sky, nor is it in another dimension. It is in a place out of this universe, where we would one day have to go to give account to God for our activities.



I tell you this: Doesn't it make sense to you that God has sent us in this world as a test, to see who believes Him and leads life according to his rules and regulations? It is simple, we gain eternal peace if we do good deeds, and suffer hell if we perform bad activities.



If you held your thumn between your fingers and say "I got your nose," I would definitely not fall for it. I know in my mind that I have a nose fixed right up in my face, just as I have faith that there is God and the religion Islam is true.
Reply:A lot happens in this world we cannot explain. I'm not particularly religious, so won't go into all that, however, we were not there. We really don't know what happened, if anything. So I don't feel its right to claim the act as fact one way or the other.
Reply:Our perishable and mortal bodies put on the imperishable and immortal aspects of the spiritual body which is the physically resurrected and changed body of the believer. Jesus was simply the first fruits of this resurrection (1 Cor. 15:20). Therefore, we can see that our future resurrected bodies will be spiritual bodies. But, those spiritual bodies are in fact physical, the same bodies we have now, only glorified. Otherwise, there is no resurrection.

Reply:The problem with the bible is that it has been changed so much that no one really knows what had happened.. The church had actually ordered some books taken out of the bible.... Then they say that Jesus is God... But, yet God says he is one and only one and we should only worship him.. Why do some wear crosses which is a symbol they are worship ping why do we pray to saints. Why do we allow the church to mislead what the real message of god is.. If you read the Quran, you will see it has not changed from the time it was wrote to the copy you will hold in your hand now.. Can we say the same for the Bible.. no...

Reply:If Jesus didn't rise from the dead, then all of his followers, throughout history (including the hundreds of witnesses who saw him alive just after his resurrection) are idiotic fools. You're willing to say that of the millions of people (some very intelligent scholars) throughout history? Maybe you are, but that's pretty prideful.

If Christ did not rise from the dead, then Christianity is worthless.

If he did not rise, I find it strange that so many witnesses never mixed up their stories about the resurrection, but rather solidified the account. And if he did not rise, I'm sure the truth would have escaped and somehow Christianity would have dwindled or become extinct, because what hope is there in a "savior" who dies like anyone else. But my Savior defeated death and completed the sacrifice for my sins.



As far as his ascending back to heaven... were you there? Do you know what happened? Neither do I. But I do know that we can't attempt to explain the way God works using our finite minds.
Reply:Christians do believe that Jesus rose body and soul into heaven, and yes, scripture does say that his physical body came back to life before he rose into heaven. No one knows where heaven is exactly....but it most likely isn't a physical place that we, as humans on this earth, can find. It is a place where your soul goes when you die, where there is eternal happiness. The reason that Jesus' body was resurrected also is because he was God already. Jesus was God as a human, so of course his body would go into heaven along with his soul. If you're a believer, this isn't hard to believe because we choose to believe. If you don't believe, that is your business, but why question it? If it helps other people to believe that they are going somewhere when they die, then why try to discourage them?

In the modern world, doctors only certify death if circulation of blood has ceased. Dead people don't bleed.



According the the gospels in the NT, Jesus was on the cross for only 3 hours when he past out seemingly dead. Pilate questioned his centurians (as most crucified victims last 3 days before secumbing). The other 2 victims who were crucified with Jesus (and treated in the same horrible way) had to have their legs broken to hasten death before the Sabbath started at sunset friday. According to the gospel of John, the centurian poked Jesus with a spear to see if he would react, but Jesus didn't stir. However, we know by modern standards that he wasn't dead because John reports that blood and water gushed out of the wound. Dead people don't bleed. Jesus was taken down from the cross and placed in a Sepulchre by Joseph of Arimethea. Joseph raped Jesus' body from head to toe and back in a sindon cloth, packing 100 pound weight of Aloe and Myrr between the sindon and the body. These herbs were used in 1st century medicine for healing, not preserving. Further to this, traditional Jewish burial (as described for Lazarus in the NT) was not used for Jesus. John's inference is clear, Jesus never died upon the cross, and was recusitated (old language resurrected). This explains why Jesus later appeared in Galilee and showed Judas Didymus his wounds proving his mortal body was alive, and that he was not a ghost.

My niece in New Jersey, mother was sitting on her porch and just like that she was on fire. All anyone heard was a loud pop and the woman was being burned to death. To this day there is no explanation as to what happened to her.

Last year a gentleman was left in the morgue for 2 days after being pronounced dead at the scene of an accident. Just as they were about to embalm him he took a deep breath and sat up.

Life is full of many mysteries.

No one is saying that Jesus is alive today. He dies for us so that our sins will always be forgiven. Yes he did rise from the dead but the mystery is where did he go after that.
