Remember her? The Chief Executive at the Maidstone Hospital where 90 people died after contracting clostridium difficile? Well, despite the outcry, it now appears she will be getting a pay-out of ￡75,000 in severance pay. Does she deserve that?

The disgraced former boss of a hospital at the centre of Britain's biggest superbug scandal will receive ￡75,000 in severance pay despite ministers trying to block it.



Rose Gibb was chief executive of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Trust when at least 90 patients died after contracting clostridium difficile.



Regulators said the bug probably contributed to the deaths of dozens of others over two years at the hospital where staff shortages meant patients were left to lie in their own excrement because managers were too focused on targets.

Reply:It isn't a "manager's" job to clean excrement. That's what nurses are for. Did this woman intentionally and personally infect anyone? If not, then YES she deserves to be given her money. If you want to blame people, then direct it to the nurses who were probably gossiping at the desk all night rather than taking care of patients.
Reply:I'm thinking 'no way!' but suspecting that, possibly, under the terms of her contract, that something would have to be awarded to prevent her taking the matter to court and winning an even bigger pay out.
