ok was watching tv. lighting rose fell, made me jump.. dangling by wires/terminal. So i turned off the switch, started to take it off the terminal n got a shock =/ . so turned off the main fuse box, and removed it.. is it ok to just leave the terminal dangling with the light switch off. leccy is coming monday. I figured out which fuse it was 3 %26amp; 4, but one of the other rooms is on the "wall socket" fuses also. it's a 3 bulb ceiling rose, so that would also be on the "sockets" fuse? or the "lights" one. I'm just worried, but I was told as long as its in the terminal , it should be ok?. thanks in advance
Electrical problem. lighting rose (fitting dropped)?
as long as the wires do not touch each other, they can be left alone till the electrician comes.I dont know what damage could of been caused by the droping of the rose.Sometimes wiring is old and kinda bony,so a sudden tug,and the weight of the rose and the light fitting might of scraped a wire, where you can not see it,like above the ceiling. If you took everything off and it is just bare wires showing,it should be safe to switch everything back on,as long nothing is touching.Be ready to switch back off tho,as if the wires are actually been damaged, where you can not see you may even cause a fire.It is late here and I am sorry if this dont help you.The safest option really is to use candles and just switch back on what you know is safe, from the fuse box and wait a few days,P.
Reply:thanx for the points Report It
Reply:with power off...cut the wires and tape them individually.
Turn power back on
Reply:God Hun I would of cr...ed myself lol
I do know tho that if you put electrical tape around each individual wire then you should be ok to turn ur leccy back on..I wouldn't go out and leave the lights on tho just in-case....I cant believe the electrician didn't advise you....Good Luck babe x
