A rose for emily /crimes?

So i have to do this reaction paper where i compare recent crimes with the story a rose for emily.



If you are unfamiliar with the story its about an old lady whom never married and lives all alone in her house. She is very isolated and the community takes pity on her and always feel bad for emily. When emily dies they find a cadaver next to her bed, indicating that she slept with the cadaver every night. Nobody ever could imagine she had kill someone for she seem like a nice lady.



Heres where I need help since i really don't keep up with the news...I need to know of crimes similar to one above. well similar in the way that the culprit was never suspected because he nice or isolated or etc.

What about the BTK killer? He lived a relatively normal life, excluding the fact that he was a serial killer. It's a stretch, but the only thing I can think of right this second.

Just a correction in your thinking, the community thinks of Emily more as that "crazy old lady in the big house", not the isolated grandmotherly nice lady. Keep in mind that Emily killed him to keep him from leaving her. That thought process could leave the argument open for stalkers and the like, who become so obsessed that they can't let go of their obsession and can end up either killing or threatening to kill the object of their obsession.
