Why does my rose bush have bud's that open half way then get brown on the petals and die? I live in SC and have sandy soil. The roses are in a sunny, well drained location and I used Mircale grow rose soil with mulch.

it could be a few things, but it sounds like it might be an insect called a thrip. use a systemic insecticide to help get rid of them, and many of the other insects for whom roses are the favorite meal. bayer makes a combination food and insecticide that comes in granular form and lasts for about 6 weeks. in addition you can also spray with ortho orthenex, which is a combination systemic insecticide and fungicide. you can buy it in an aerosol can which makes it mucho easy. roses can be a challenge to grow and should be on a regular preventative program of insecticides and fungicides. an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
Reply:when a rose bush grows to much without being cut back it could choke itself off(so to speak) so trim it back and your next bunch of buds should open all the way.
Reply:I suspect botrytis blight. It's a common rose disease, especially if you've had quite a bit of rain this spring or last fall. Watering plants n the evening can also promote this blight.
Rosebuds fail to open and are covered with a grayish brown, fuzzy mold. Open flowers are flecked with yellow or brown and lower petals are wilted and brown. The stems below infected flowers become discolored.
Botrytis blight, also called gray mold, a fungus disease that spreads in moist air and cool temperatures.
There are no chemical cures for blight once it occurs. If symptoms appear, cut off and destroy all infected plant parts. Spray with a fungicide to keep the disease from spreading.

is rose water suppose to be gud for ur face or not..??
i have been using it but i see no effects...

u need to ck which brand of rose water u hv bought. i use it to clean my face everymorning coz of oil on my face. my skin becomes fresh %26amp; soft...even after i remove my make-up i apply rose water...its a kind kind of good toner for ur skin...sometimes use it with diff things to make a good face pack for eg. multani metti..jus to get better results of the pack.Do not expect anything more than this lk if wil make the skin fair or remove anykind of marks......but again dont stop using it...it doesnt hv any side effects...lk how water is good for skin %26amp; body both..similarly rose water is good for skin...dont give up

My uncle recently passed away and my family and I would like to plant a rose in his honor.
He was very dedicated to serving our country in it's time of need. He belonged to the military.
We were not sure if there was a color of rose that symbolized this. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks!

I love Guns n' Roses,and for me, they were one of the best rock bands America has produced. I miss Axl rose and his band real bad. I heard he withdrew into himself, and leads an isolated live after the group disbanded. Axl rose was such a great performer on stage. he was unique and very individual in his style. we miss you Axl rose,please stage a comeback
