Rose water?

What are the health benefits of rose water?

Thanks for answering

Rose water?
Rose water is used in cooking, but the health benefits I know of are to the skin. It is a mild astringent, and wonderful when used as toner. In the olden days, women would use a mixture of rosewater and glycerin (which hydrates) to keep their skin clear and smooth.
Reply:this is in the wrong category, as rose water is not an alcoholic beverage. It is a flavoring especially used in Middle Eastern cookery. In America/Britain's olden days (18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries) it was widely used as a cake and cookie flavoring.

I've never heard of any health benefits, though.

[Edit: that's a cool piece of trivia tapioca, I never heard of it being used in cosmetic preparations...that sounds interesting. I love the smell though, and can see why someone would rub it on their skin :)]
