I'm re-potting a rose bush and I just cut the bag of soil open before I noticed that it said "Not for containers". What's the difference? Should I go ahead and use it anyway?
Rose soil bag says "Not for containers". Can I use it in a pot anyway?
It may be too heavy for a container and the water may not drain enough. You could add perlite or peat moss to lighten it a little if this is the case. The best thing for potted plants is a potting mix with no garden soil.
Reply:No I wouldn't.It might be to rich and burn the roots. You could mix it down with topsoil.use the directions on bag for ground use and figure accordingly.
Reply:at your own risk...why would they say 'not for containers'?
