Who thinks the Rose Bowl committee should change the traditions?

So the Rose Bowl has always been between the Big Ten and PAC-10. Well I think since it is a BCS game that they should say forget the traditions. After all the times when Texas played Michigan and USC were far more interesting. Now imagine this.... USC vs. Boston College, USC vs. Georgia, USC vs. Missouri, Illinois vs. Hawaii, Illinois vs. Kansas, or even Kansas vs. Hawaii they need to make the Rose Bowl interesting this years sucked. (That and it gets old seeing USC there single year.)

Who thinks the Rose Bowl committee should change the traditions?
I understand that we need to preserve SOME tradition in college football, however I would think that the Rose Bowl committee would be more interested in inviting the best 2 available teams. Wouldn't having the most competitive game possible be the easiest way to make money? I would never had paid to watch Illinois get routed by USC! I would however had paid money to see USC vs Georgia, Missouri, Virginia Tech, or Oklahoma. This whole allowing the BCS bowls pick and choose who gets to play is BS. My solution (short of an actual playoff or plus 1 options) is to only rank 8 teams in the BCS. That way you do not get teams that are like Illinois, ranked 13th in the BCS yet get to play a BCS game while Missouri get shafted
Reply:Rose Bowl should pull back out of the BCS, and let the AP championship go back to being the one that actually matters.

The BCS needs the Rose Bowl's cooperation a lot more than the media or the BCS wants to admit.
Reply:hey how bout you shut up. no **** sherlock the rose bowl has been pac 10 vs. big 10 since like 1920. its called tradition.

and overated fuckeyes, usc didnt almost play lsu. usc almost played ohio st. for the championship. lsu wouldve played in the rose bowl vs. michigan.
Reply:I've said this for months here.

USC pretty much dominates the Pac 10 every year and they get a home game.

It's time for a change.
Reply:Look up the Rose Bowl history. It hasn't always been Pac 10 vs. Big 11. It's been that for less than half of it's history.
Reply:LSU almost played USC last year but the Trojans screwed it up when they lost to UCLA.
Reply:The Rose Bowl should not change the tradition.. It's Pac 10 vs Big 10 before BCS screw it up.. I don't care if I end up seeing USC vs OSU years after years..
Reply:The Big 10 and Pac 10 have been playing in the Rose Bowl game since '47 or '48. Most years it is a good match-up with exceptions favoring both conferences.

I like traditions but some years common sense should overrule history. Like this year.

Neither Illinois nor the Rainbows earned a BCS berth where it should count most, on the field. Their final scores showed that they were over-matched and didn't belong.
