I planted 4 rose bushes for the first time. 1 already has leafs and blooms, and the other are still bare! No leafs, or blooms. Just steems with thorns. They are still all green. They haven't turn't brown. I just want to know... Do some roses bloom later in the summer? They get lots of sun, water once a day, and fertilizer. Is it too late for them to start growing, or are they dead? What should I do??
Rose Problem!! First time grower!! HELP?
If the stems are still green you may be able to save them. Start by cutting back on the water. Once a week or when the soil is dry at about 2 inches down should do it. You didn't say how long since you planted them but I will assume it was this spring. I wouldn't fertilize until next year, it will give the roses more time to establish roots to support the leaves and flowers. Look along the stems for little reddish buds, especially near the bottom of the plant. When see some you'll know things are going to be OK. Hope this helps.
Reply:do not water roses that is the most common problem
Reply:First when did you plant them? Did they have leaves when you planted them? Were they bare root or in a pot with soil?
