Rose Bowl and Illinois??

With Missouri playing Oklahoma this weekend for the Big12 title. While earlier this season Oklahoma beat Missouri by 10 points and should beat Missouri again this weekend. If Missouri does lose again, Ohio State will now be #2 and playing WVU for the National Title game. With Illinois being #2 in the Big10, if OSU goes onto the Big Game does Illinois get the Rose Bowl Bid?

currently illinois is #15 in the BCS. the 4 teams right ahead of them play this weekend and the BCS rule is you need to be ranked in the top 14 and have nine wins. (so whoever said UM has a chance is wrong) for illinois to go to the rose bowl the top 2 have to lose but just one of them. obviously Mizz. vs. oklahoma is the more likely outcome to have ohio st. go to the N.C. in that case the rose bowl decides between the Pac-10 vs. Big Ten matchup and choose illinois or goes with the larger fan base and higher ranked at-large team in georgia. Jerry Palm has illinois a 50% chance to go to the rose bowl so i guess to answer your question of course illinois is going to the rose bowl. GO ILLINI!!!!!
Reply:Yes. If OSU goes to Big Bowl, Illinois will probably get RoseBowl Bid. ABC will want the Chicago market and will get it with Illinois.



U of M could still get it, but most likely will get Capital One Bowl if OSU goes to BCS game.
Reply:Yeah Illinois will probably get the bid, but Hawaii could get an at-large bid.
Reply:Possibly. OSU would be pulled into the National Championship with a WVU or an MU loss. If that happens the Rose Bowl will get to choose their at-large replacement, and will likely (but not necessarily) choose Illinois to maintain a Big 10-Pac 10 matchup. However, to pick Illinois, they'd have to pass over a lot of other, more worthy teams to do it, so they might not.
