Do rose hair tarantulas bite?
They can bite, it hurts somewhat like a bee sting from what I've heard..

It's best just to be careful when you go to handle them, there are ways to tell if they just don't want to be held..

I highly recommend you read through this care sheet on them since most pet stores and online care sheets are totally inaccurate and fail to take into consideration where this tarantula is from. Most places tell you to mist them regularly, but, these tarantulas are from a very dry climate. Misting them regularly can cause fungus on the book lungs..

Here's a great link on Grammastola rosea..

And, another one on handling..

AND, finally more basic tarantula info if you find yourself addicted to the little guys..

I really like mine, I have about 40 and they are some of the easiest pets out there to keep.. Their are so many species of them that there seems to be no end to the variety available..
Reply:they can if provoked, they are not that venomous unless your allergic to them. The worst is they let loose there hairs and those darn things can ITCH like crazy!!
Reply:Not often and only when provoked. Extremely itchy if they shed on you though
