Pete Rose? Ever in the hall?

Do you think pete rose will ever get in the hall? does he deserve it?

Pete Rose? Ever in the hall?
Based on his on-field play, he's obviously worthy.

However, he broke one of the most serious rules in the books, then spent years lying about it. Given that, I don't think he deserves enshrinement. He tainted the game in a very bad way.

I know that it stinks to think of guys like Bonds et al getting in while Rose sits on the outside looking in, but none of them were ever proven to have violated MLB rules. That doesn't make it any easier to swallow, but it's true.
Reply:I hope he will never will make it to the Hall of fame.
Reply:I Love Pete Rose!!!

Induct Him!!!

And to the guy that said if you believe Rose should be in the HOF, your not a real baseball fan, let me tell you, I AM A REAL BASEBALL FAN.I just think Rose was a great player, amazing hitter. He did what he did as a manager, not as a player.
Reply:I have to go with what Georgie Porgie says. He was banned for life. He is represented in the HOF, with his uniform, stats, and other articles. But they did make a final ruling, I believe in 2006. He will never be in the hall of fame as a great player. I am just hoping they do the same to Barry Bonds. If am man can be banned for betting on baseball (he said not on his own team), then why shouldn't a player be banned for using an illegal substance that turned him into a super jerk, I mean player.
Reply:NO, he is permanently blackballed off the record.
Reply:His numbers are worthy - but I personally am a lifelong Reds fan and feel he betrayed the game - so if he ever gets in it should be after he dies. Sad to say.
Reply:Probably when he is dead. As long as Selig is commissioner he will never allow him in. Selig plans to retire in 2009, so maybe after that. Depends on who the next commissioner will be.
Reply:anyone who thinks pete should be in is three things..

1. a bad judge of character

2. never read the dowd report

3. is not a real baseball fan..
Reply:He deserve it. What he did on the field was honest without drugs and makes ever kid dream to do it the right way. He loves the game of baseball and played it with his heart. He has made a mistake and as an American everyone should get a second chance once they have admitted to it. I'm afraid they will wait til he is dead and til then i feel that there is a big hole at the hall of fame!
Reply:We are all familiar with his scenario. His numbers say yes, his character says no. Does he deserve to be inducted? Based on the evidence laid out before the public, no. But lets say for a moment that he gets inducted.

How many of the living members of the hall of fame would attend a Pete Rose induction? How many fans would attend the induction ceremony? These are things that I've often wondered.

Some members of the hall have even threaten to give up their place in the hall if Rose ever got in. The only public supporter of Rose over the years has been Mike Schmidt. That's not much support if you ask me.
Reply:Rose is not banned for life, or even FOR LIFE!

Rose is banned Permanently.

When that term of sentence expires, Rose may -- may -- regain Hall eligibility. Though I doubt it.

Rose would merit induction if not for special, extenuating circumstances of his own making. Bad decisions can have bad consequences.
Reply:BANNED FOR LIFE

usually means just that---FOR LIFE!

Pete Rose Does NOT belong in the Hall Of Fame!!!

NOT even as a paying customer.

NOT even after he has been dead for 100 years!

What he did was so wrong (gambling).

Anyone who thinks otherwise (even remotely) is NOT a REAL Baseball fan.
