Pete rose hirkine???

i recently found a baseball signed by pete rose in my attic. underneath his signature, it says: HirKine. his sig is in cursive, but the other word is in print. any ideas?

Pete rose hirkine???
Brett is correct.

Rose usually signs "Hit King" or "4256" after his name.

Apparently not legibly.

Reply:When Pete Rose married, he did a very unlikely thing. He changed his last name to his wifes last name. His wife's last name was Rose, and he married her 4 years before he started playing in the Major Leagues. His name before Rose was Hirkineseter. He signs his baseballs with Pete Rose, Hirkine, to shorten Hirkineseter.
Reply:I believe it's Gaelic for 'put $20 on the reds"

(honestly though, it probably means to say 'hit king', but there was no room for 'but it took me 2500 more at bats to do it')

Edit; Tony, not sure if you are joking, and understanding that this isn't always 100% correct, but taken from wikipedia

Rose grew up in the working-class area of Western Hills in Cincinnati[1] as one of four children to Harry and LaVerne Rose,
