I have 4 rose bushes that are loosing their leaves, What is causing this? I water and fertilize regularly and they dont have any brown or black spots on the leaves, or and kinds of pests. The leaves are just falling off. I have 2 more on opposite ends that are doing great, and i treat them just the same and they have really nice, thick dark green leaves. All of them are full of buds. What can I do to prevent this or what is causing this? Thanks!
Rose Bushes?
Many plants lose leaves when they are under-watered. It's the plant's first line of defense during drought etc. I'd suggest getting a "soaker" hose and thoroughly watering the roots as required. Roses don't like wet leaves, so avoid watering the entire plant, just water at the base. Wet leaves promote fungus etc.
Reply:Yes they are alll right they need lots of water.. try the coffee ground thing.. and i put banana peels around the bottoms of mine too.. good luck..
Reply:WATER WATER WATER AND I SAY WATER WATER WATER, BUT WATCH OUT FOR WATER RESTRICTIONS AND WATER WATER WATER IN MORN.
Reply:all of the answers above are correct but I failed to see if they told you that roses are acid loving and I would try some coffee grounds at the base of the bush as well . good luck and happy gardening .
