Wal mart had a bin of 5 dollar movies I bought Rose Red expecting it to be really good as I like King but it wasn't but I'm thinking that since I'm not the "intellectual" type at all maybe I'm just too stupid to understand it.
Can sombody explain it to me? Was it all centered around Annie the autistic girl or what? For a 4 hour King movie I found it not good.
Rose Red I don't get it?
I am a huge Stephen King fan, I havent read that book. The movie was confussing to me to. I think it was centered around annie because she was what brought the house back to life. I think you have to read the book to understand the movie and I have watched that movie about five or six time I still dont fully understand it.
*Queen Anya*
Reply:Well the movie really isn't about annie it is how she connects to the house somehow.
I never really have seen it all together I Aways fall asleep.
But you are right, it is pretty boring.
Reply:stephen king's writing sucks
they must have good screenwriters to make the movies tolerable
his ideas are good, but it ruins it with bad dialog and weird variations
Reply:It does move rather slowly, but I did like the story. It was not centered around Annie, but she was a key factor. The professor that put the trip together chose spiritually inept people and Annie, who could make things happen with her mind (kind of like Carrie, actually). Their psychic energy woke the house up, especially Annie's. There is certainly something special about a young girl that can make boulders fall out of the sky. I also think the professor's boyfriend, being from the Rimbaur family, assisted in bringing the house back to life. Oh, and the house was built on Indian burial grounds, completely typical King trait for his stories.
