Rose bushes have many buds, but nothing blooms!?

I have a dozen or so rose bushes in the front yard spread well apart, and they have been budding healthy looking buds for weeks, but they never open. It's like they want to but can't! I've pruned unhealthy canes, and kept up on feeding them, as well as spraying for pests, but they just won't open. We've recently had a bunch of rain in the area....Is it possible that the rain has something to do with this?

yes.. please give them time.. its early in the season.. you will get some in late summer even.. try to give them some flowering fertilizer. miracle grow makes some good ones. high in nitrogen and potassium.
Reply:It could be aphids, an annoying pest that likes to eat rosebuds. Don't spray pesticide, buy a bag of live ladybugs at your local landscaper. It's a wonderful solution to the problem - just shake the bag out on the bush and they'll take care of the pests!
Reply:stop everything ur doing..... let the plants have peace for at least another week... the buds should open! it's probably the temp. droping low then getting high again! mine does the same thing.... just give em time! "good things come to those who wait"
