"Rose" on "Grey's Anatomy"?

I believe I read somewhere that Laura Stamile, who plays Rose, was only cast for a seven episode arc. If that's true, when the writer's strike is over, there should be only two more episodes of her, correct? I thought she was supposed to be a recurring major character. If there are only two more episodes of her, will she just be written off or something? I'm a bit confused. I thought the whole point of her being there was to stir up drama. What's the use if she just goes away?

Rose is the plot device the writers came up with the point out that Derek, at this point, is focused a lot more on the destination (i.e., married, kids, dream home) than the destination (getting there with the love of his life).



He hasn't seen much of the progress Meredith's been making in getting past her abandonment issues and everything that has happened to her in the last year (including him with the unexpected wife, etc...). So Derek doesn't think she is trying.



Derek will probably go on a few dates with Rose, realize that perfect on paper (i.e., Rose) doesn't translate to perfect in reality.



I could see Rose, if Lauren Stamile is available and willing, becoming one of the recurring characters that we bump into from time to time, like Nurse Tyler, Nurse Debbie and Joe, but not as a full-time member of the cast, since she really doesn't fit into the framework of the show (interns learning to be doctors and growing up)

Reply:Rose is the scrub nurse that derek kissed a few episodes back and didn't tell meredith about then she found out and broke up with him and the last episode ended with derek asking rose to go out to dinner with him that night.....but i hope her character does go cause mer and der have been through so much together and apaprt that i really want to see their love and relationship prevail. meredith is really trying, but she lets things get to her too easily.
